Kayla's Quilt

This is the quilt I made for Barbara & Q's great-granddaughter, Kayla. It started with a pack of fat quarters and I added the pink with white dots and the blue-checkered fabric. I decided I wanted to keep the pictures in-tack on the two fabrics so they would have to be panels, 2 vertical and 2 horizontal. So I worked it from there and made-up the whole design. The label is from 50 Nifty Iron-on Quilt Labels by Leisure Arts.

Wild Wacky Wedges Quilt

This work in progress is a design called Rosie's Charm, from the Fall 2009 Fons & Porter's easyQUILTS magazine. Directions are given to make it in Queen, Twin, Crib, or a Throw size.
As you can see, I've made it with some more of that "Funky Fabric".

Layout of the Funky Fabric Quilt

You may remember awhile back I was collecting all these, what I called "funky fabrics" to make into a quilt. Each square is made by folding a circle around a square.
The technique is from a book called quilt by Ruth Van Haeff. In her book she used it to make beautiful a Folded Japanese quilt (pages 102-109)
I'll hand stitch each of the 9 rows across together. Then, the 9 rows together.
I do this by putting the right sides together of ajoining two squares (using Coats - Dual Duty Fine thread) and sew a close whip stitch along the very edge.

Helen's Yellow Lap Quilt

This is a lap quilt my friend Helen made using 1930's reproduction fabric.
It's tied together with silk ribbon and has a decorative stitch-in-the-ditch.

Posy Pot Quilt

This is my new quilt project from the book Patchwork Picnic
by Suzette Halferty and Nancy J. Martin
(Quilts and Recipes for Year-Round Entertaining)
I'll have to make 12 of these squares with 3 each of pink, blue, yellow and green pots.
More to come in time.
