Super Easy Sticky Buns

12 Rhodes Frozen Rolls (Dinner roll about the size of a golf ball.)
1 small package of instant vanilla pudding (French Vanilla is fine too)
1 tsp. cinnamon - Mix this into the dry pudding mix

1 stick melted butter
1/2 cup brown sugar - Combine this with the melted butter

1/2 cup chopped pecans

*Spray a 13 x 9 pan with Pam
*Sprinkle the nuts on the bottom of the pan. (You can even put some fine diced apple here too.)
*Evenly space the frozen rolls on the nuts
*Sprinkle spoonfuls of the pudding/cinnamon mixture over each roll.
*Pour the melted butter/brown sugar mixture over the rolls.
*Spray a piece of Saran wrap and place loosely over the pan.
*Place in the cold oven the night before.
*In the morning, remove the Saran wrap & turn the oven on to 350' with the pan in the oven.
*Bake at 350' for 20-30 minutes until lightly browned.

You can have these baking while you're putting the stuffing into the turkey & then your oven will already be preheated! Just be sure to turn it down to 325'.
Wondering how long it will take to defrost or roast that turkey?

The Soundwagon

Just something fun!
Hodgepodge reader Cindy from St. James Church in Florence, Italy, found this product in a recent issue of Venerdi (Friday), an Italian magazine.
"The picture shows what looks like a toy VW bus sitting on an LP record. It is actually a record player...the bus is equipped with a needle that "plays" the record as it travels around and around the surface of the record, which remains still. It's all in the little bus.(The little box next to the record is another product). The article explains that Lo Stokyo Corporation, which produces it, was not the first one to think up this idea. About 40 years ago another Japanese company, Tamco, made a similar article. The VW comes in red, blue, white and black. The price? $500."
(I found it for $99 on eBay.)

Here's a YouTube video of it:

Prep Bowls Used for Dry Measure

I recently replace an old bread maker that broke with a new Cuisinart one from Costco. I was getting tired of measuring out 4 cups of flour one at a time for one of the recipes I make. I was on a quest to find larger dry measure cups. No one, at least that I could find, makes large cups for dry measuring. Then I came across these prep bowls with covers to boot! They are 1, 2, 3, and 4 cups in size. Oh happy day! Now I can even have the flour all measured out and ready to go. For the first time I did measure it out from a 1 cup measure into the 4 cup bowl just to make sure it accurately leveled off with the 4 cups. My bread came out perfect.

Walking

MAPMYWALK
www.mapmywalk.com
MapMyWalk allows visitors to calculate the distance of a walking route by tracing it on a map; it works for any location in the world covered by Google maps.

WALK SCORE
www.walkscore.com
On this Web site, you can find out how conducive a neighborhood is to walking by typing in an address. Based on the proximity of grocery stores, parks, schools, restaurants, libraries, and more, the site generates a score of 0–100 for the location. The neighborhood’s attractions are also listed by category (schools, coffee shops, etc.) with their distance from the originating address; they are shown on a map of the neighborhood, as well.

(Thanks Cathy A. for sending these to Hodgepodge.)

Here are some other walking websites I found:

HP reader Sue T. sends along this additional info:

Hi Debbie,
There is also an iPod touch/iPhone app that uses the internal gps to tell
you how fast/far you've gone--if you enter your weight, it even tells you
how many calories you've burned. It works for runners and walkers and I
like it because normal pedometers want you to enter a stride length, and
most of us don't stride exactly x inches every time.
