Hurricane Sandy & Nor-easter

I'm ok, living in NJ in one of the counties that was hit hard. We have a woodstove so we had heat, hot water, and gas stovetop to use, but no electric for a week. A bunch of trees went down on our property and three huge branches down and the maple next the the deck is now looking like a weeping willow. Yikes!! We parked our cars on the center of our front lawn where we hope them to be the safest. (One of the trees had gone down in the center of the backyard.)
So . . . all in all (so far) we're blessed.
I went to St. Mark's in Keansburg the day the Nor-easter was starting with my friend Diane, her son, and friend to bring some food, homemade baked goods, and help out Father Ed. Later in the afternoon as we left it was raining hard and driving west - snow! It's coming down fast!
So many stories, some bad (generators and gas cans being stolen) but more so the overwhelming outpouring of help that is arriving with donations truckloads of food, clothing, blankets, and love!
Hugs to all! We're feeling yours in NJ . . .
Debbie
P.S. - Just as I was going to post and send this out we lost power for the second time.
