The Buddy Poppy

In Flander's Field

by John McCrae
In Flanders Fields the poppies blow,
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky,
The larks, still bravely singing, fly,
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the dead.
Short days ago,
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved and now we lie,
In Flanders Fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe
To you, from failing hands, we throw,
The torch, be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us, who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow,
In Flanders Fields.

Guess this is one car we'll never see as the oil companies can't make money off it.

Baby Robins

The 3 eggs hatched the day after I took the picture of them on Friday.
The 4th still has not hatched and I'm thinking it probably won't.

General Convention of the Episcopal Church

(Lifted from Barbara's eMo and reposted here in case you didn't see it.)
Now it's 2012, and the General Convention of the Episcopal Church is again upon us, set to begin in about a month, July 5-12, in Indianapolis. As in the past, the Geranium Farm will again host a lunch, this year on Friday, July 6 from 12.45 - 2.pm. Many Farmers will be there and it will be a pleasure to see everyone again. Wanna come? The cost of the lunch will be $20. Reserve by emailing the Deacon of the Farm, Joanna Depue: deaconj@geraniumfarm.org.

Robin's Nest

Momma robin has returned yet again to nest in a shrub next to the patio under the deck.
I'll keep you updated on the progress of the little ones.

Life

"The adventure of life is to learn. The purpose of life is to grow. The nature of life is to change. The challenge of life is to overcome. The essence of life is to care. The opportunity of life is to serve. The secret of life is to dare. The spice of life is to befriend. The beauty of life is to give. The joy of life is to love."  ~ William Arthur Ward
