Simple Baby Quilts

If you don't do much sewing or don’t know anything about quilting, but would like to make a nice handmade quilt as a baby gift, I found these 4 links that had some simple ones. I made the first one listed for a friend’s first grandchild and I bet you could do it too.
The second one listed is a smaller one for preemies.

(If this interests you print out the directions as
sometimes links disappear after time.)

The baby quilt pictured above made of soft flannel,
was created by my friend Helen for a gift.

It is just little stuffed squares, stitched together with love.

I can't wait to try one of these. I make knit hats for hospital new-borns, the preemie quilts will make a nice addition.

I used to crochet the preemie hats. I haven't done it in awhile. I'll have to get back to it.

If you go to:http://www.projectlinus.org/

there is also a pattern there for a Preemie quilt.

For those of you who don't know about Project Linus it is a national, all-volunteer organization providing security blankets to seriously ill or traumatized children.

warmupamerica.com has some great projects for knitting/crocheting blankets for the homeless as well as projects for kids to tackle - good community service ideas!
