Pay Cash for Gas and Save
Now I remember years ago some gas stations used to offer a lower price if you paid in cash but I hadn't seen it around here since . . . well . . . you know I can't remember when. I pulled into a station today and it was $3.75 a gallon for cash and $3.85 a gallon if you used a credit card.
So . . . something you might want to be on the lookout for in your area.
Oh and the attendant [Yes, you read that right, we don't pump our on gas in NJ. You know us when we come to your state and we don't know what we're doing! LOL : ) ] said they've been doing it for the past 3 weeks.

Yes, we saved 4 cents a gallon in Riverhead, Long Island, NY, last weekend by paying cash. Thus, we paid "only" $4.16 instead of $4.20 using a credit card. Also try looking up online for the lowest gas price in your area. AOL's homepage www.aol.com has a section where you can click on "gas prices" and enter a zip code. Not totally accurate, I learned, but helpful, nonetheless. Good luck to all, Carol S. from Ways of the World
See HP posting from May 17, 2006 for a place to find cheapest gas prices.
